About Crescendo
Furniture for all kinds of homes.
Crescendo makes furniture for all kinds of homes. We design furniture that is kid- and pet-friendly, and does not require extra caution to avoid damage.
Our story
Where this started
Two things kept bothering us.
The first was dining tables.
A beautiful timber table is a lovely thing to own, but sometimes a stressful thing to live with. You end up holding a hot dish while someone looks for a placemat. You wince when a glass of red goes over. Before long, you're protecting the table from everyday life instead of simply using it.
That never made much sense to us.
The second was sofas.
Removable, washable covers sound like the obvious answer to spills, and they certainly help. But if liquid gets through the cover and into the foam underneath, washing the fabric only solves half the problem.
We wanted a sofa that was easier to clean properly, not just easier to make look clean again.
Neither of those felt like things you should simply have to accept when buying furniture for a real home.
What we did about it
A surface made to be used.
For our dining tables, we chose an HPL surface over an HDF core.
It has been tested for heat resistance up to 180°C for 20 minutes, is resistant to everyday scratches and is easy to wipe clean after spills like coffee, oil or red wine.
In other words, it is a surface made to be used.
The Legato
Comfort, with real life in mind.
For the Legato, we spent a lot of time thinking about what happens after something spills.
The covers are removable and washable, but underneath them sits a waterproof layer between the fabric and the foam. It is a detail you rarely see or think about, but it helps stop everyday spills from soaking into the sofa underneath.
We approached the fabrics in much the same way. They had to feel good and look good, but they also had to make sense for the way people actually live. That includes a tightly woven option for homes with pets, where claws and loose hair are part of everyday life.
These are small details, but they are often the ones that make the biggest difference once furniture has been in your home for a while.
Why the range is small
A considered collection.
We would rather understand a small number of pieces properly than fill the website with hundreds of products simply for the sake of having more.
Everything we choose has to earn its place.
The Zen was selected to work naturally with the Horizon and the Clover. The Legato was chosen around a very particular idea of comfort, flexibility and easy care. Each piece should make sense on its own, but also feel like it belongs to the same home.
The range will grow, but only when we find something we genuinely think is worth adding.
Living with Crescendo
The details we care about
We pay attention to the things that are easy to overlook.
What happens when dinner spills…
Whether a sofa can actually be cleaned properly…
How a surface holds up to everyday use…
Whether something still feels practical once the novelty of having something new has worn off…
Looks matter to us. THEY ALWAYS WILL.
But furniture has to do more than look good on the day it arrives. It has to make sense on ordinary Tuesdays, during family dinners, around pets, after accidents and through all the small messes that come with living in a home.
That's the standard we come back to when deciding what belongs at Crescendo.
If you have a question
Ask us.
Your questions come directly to our team, and we'll give you a real answer.
If you're unsure whether something will fit, send us your room measurements before ordering. We'd much rather spend ten minutes helping you work it out than have something arrive that isn't right for your space.
Furniture should make home easier to live in, not harder to look after.
